The primary goal of this study is to offer a careful analysis of the apostle Paul’s understanding of the person of Christ, that is, who it was who came among us and why he did so. I argue that Christ came among us for two basic reasons: first, to reveal the true nature and character of the eternal God and, second, to redeem us from our fallen, and thus broken, condition. But to get to those conclusions it seems wise to begin where Paul himself began: with what Christ did for us
